  • You are taken to your hotel in the city center. We make sure your room is ready on arrival.

Fun fact

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, some streets of the old quarter are closed to traffic from 7pm (Ma May, Hang Buom, Ta Hien area). It makes a pleasant walking area with a lot of people, and animated streets with shows, food and beverages stalls.

DAY 2

HANOI, THE NOSTALGIC CITY (B/L/-)

 

  • The guide meets you in the hotel’s lobby at 9am. A nice day ahead filled with interesting visits and restful moments of intimacy.
  • Start with a classic of Hanoi monuments, the temple of literature. It is loaded with History and features probably the most beautiful ancient architecture of the city.
  • Then hop on a bicycle to travel across the Ho Chi Minh complex.
  • Discover the large tree-bordered alleys of the former colonial administration district.
  • Your bicycles drop you at the doorstep of the old quarter.
  • Walk along some of its 36 busy streets and exit the maze through HoanKiem Lake.
  • Lunch will be served in the outdoor patio of the Ly Club, an old colonial villa refurbished and transformed into a restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, either you visit the ethnographic museum or take a nice electric cart ride around the largest lake of the city.
  • After any of these, you will be taken for a sunset drink on the rooftop of Hanoi.
  • Enjoy the view of the whole city and the surrounding mountains while sipping a cocktail (one cocktail included).
  • End of the day at leisure.

 

Fun fact

In the late afternoon, wander around the Trang Tien Plaza at the South of the HoanKiem Lake and around the Opera House or Sofitel Metropole. You will see numerous Vietnamese couples taking their pre-wedding pictures. It is a tradition here, and some pavements become real outdoor studios.

DAY  3

HANOI – HALONG BAY (B/L/D)

 

  • The guide will pick you at 8 am up for an immediate departure to the legendary Halong Bay.
  • Drive across the Red River delta and reach the coast little before noon.
  • Embark on a private wooden junk for a night cruise in the breathtaking seascape of Halong.
  • Once on board, meet your personal butler and make yourself cozy.
  • You are served a delicious seafood-based buffet lunch, while the limestone rocks are setting up the décor.
  • Reach a less traveled area in the afternoon and devote yourself to relaxation, swimming and eventually kayaking.
  • The program is not fixed and depends on the time of the year and weather, but there might be some sandy beach on the menu if you wish it.
  • End the day on the sundeck while the sun sets.
  • Time for an aperitif or attend a cooking demonstration before dinner.

 

Fun fact

Recently, a service of seaplanes allows passenger to fly from Hanoi to Halong, or simply enjoy a scenic flight over the bay for about 15 minutes. It is possible to have it as an add-on to your tour.

DAY 4

HALONG – HANOI – HUE (BRUNCH/-/-)

 

  • Cruising back to the pier, a brunch is served as you get closer to disembarkation.
  • Early Tai Chi session is proposed, coffee and tea are served early if you wish to wake up at dawn to see the beautiful lights of sunrise.
  • Visit a grotto or a floating village before starting your way back to the coast.
  • Disembark and drive straight to Hanoi’s airport to catch a flight to Hue.
  • You are welcomed at Hue’s airport and driven to your hotel.
  • Dinner is served at the hotel.

Hue was the last imperial capital and this until 1945. The end of feudality in Vietnam occurred only 70 years ago. Discovering the ancient lifestyle of Hue, you will be amazed how the country has changed in such a short period of time.

DAY 5

  • The tour starts from the hotel’s lobby at 9am.
  • Visit the imperial citadel before getting on bicycle for a nice ride to the rural side of Hue.
  • Travel on small narrow paths along rice fields and other vegetables gardens to reach Thanh Toan village. This place is full of charm with its old houses and crisscrossing canals.
  • Stop for a refreshment by the Japanese bridge and have the opportunity to visit the little local museum.
  • Come back to Hue for lunch and then drive to the beautiful Vedana Lagoon Lang Co resort.
  • Arrive in the afternoon.

  • A full day on your own to enjoy Hoi An’s An Bang beach.
  • Explore the charming ancient port town with its little alleys, beautiful houses and numerous food shops.

The legend says that for a genuine Cao Lau noodles dish, probably the most famous dish in Hoi An’s region, the water used to cook the noodles must come from an ancient well dating back to the Cham era. This well is still there, somewhere in the old quarter, would you find it?

DAY 9

HOI AN – SAIGON – MEKONG DELTA (B/L/D)

 

  • Depart from the hotel very early to catch the first flight to Saigon.
  • Once in Saigon you are picked up at the airport and driven straight to the Mekong delta.
  • Reach Cai Be and board a beautiful private sampan to cruise the mighty River.
  • The exact itinerary depends on the departure date. In any case you will slide along the Mekong and its arroyos between Cai Be and Can Tho, meet farmers and craftsmen who live from its waters.
  • Visit the lovely Sadec town and have a romantic candlelight dinner in a beautiful ancient house.
  • Spend the night on boat.

Sadec town was made famous in the novel The Loverby Marguerite Duras. You will have the opportunity to visit the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, the son of a rich Chinese family who had a romance with Marguerite Duras when she was 15.

DAY 10

MEKONG DELTA – SAIGON – SIEM REAP (B/L/-)

 

  • In the morning, get on a smaller boat to explore a floating market of the region. Barges loaded with fruits and other products from the land used to gather in higher numbers before. However the atmosphere and remaining traders keep it worth the detour.
  • At 10am, disembark and drive back to Saigon with a lunch on the way.
  • Upon arrival, if time allows, take a short sightseeing tour around historical center of Saigon before we head to the airport to fly to Siem Reap.
  • You are welcomed at Siem Reap’s airport
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • Evening at leisure.

 

Fun fact

If you have time, you can decide to get high with a visit of the Bitexco Tower. A skydeck and a skybar are opened for a breathtaking view over the megalopolis.

ANGKOR BY TUK-TUK (B/L/D)

 

  • Discover Angkor highlights and travel around the temples complex. Explore Angkor Wat, easily the most famous and best-preserved of all temples within the Angkor complex. It is a massive three-tiered structure crowned by five lotus-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level.
  • Visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom, surrounded by an 8m high wall.
  • Head to Angkor Thom, it was the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII.
  • Visit Bayon Temple, Baphuon, the royal enclosure, and the Terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King. This 12th century masterpiece is a study in grandeur, its exterior gallery walls featuring extensive, superb bas-reliefs, particularly the East and South Galleries.
  • Continue to Ta Prohm Temple, unlike most other Angkor temples, has been left just it was when rediscovered: a photogenic and atmospheric maze of trees growing out of temple ruins amidst jungle surroundings, making it one of Angkor’s most popular temples with visitors.
  • In late afternoon, meet a buddhist monk to receive his blessing and then cross the West Baray, a water reservoir used to serve the rice irrigation system within Angkor complex.
  • After a quick boat journey, reach a private villa with a very special setting for the last dinner of your vacation.

Angkor complex welcomes each year over 2 millions visitors. It is probably the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over 400 km2 with its forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century.

DAY 12

TONLE SAP LAKE & DEPARTURE (B/-/-)

 

  • Head out to Kompong Kleang “floating village”, a stilt house settlement of over 20,000 people where structures can tower up to ten meters above the water.
  • Greeted by waves of the friendly locals, have a glimpse Cambodia’s countryside culture and traditional family lifestyle.
  • Come back to Siem Reap around noon time.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure until you are taken to the airport to catch your flight out.

To know a bit what to expect when coming to Kampong Khleang, note that high waters season lasts roughly from June to November. The low waters season is from December to May.
